Robbie Lawler And Donald Cerrone Have Been Booked In The Battle Of Ultimate Badasses At UFC 205

Former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone are, without question, two of the most badass dudes to ever step foot in the octagon. With 78 fights, 14 title fights, and 22 performance bonuses between them, this is no longer an opinion that is up for debate.

With Cerrone making quite a splash in the welterweight division as of late, it seemed only a matter of time before he and the division’s former kingpin would lock horns in a fight that would surely make McGregor vs. Diaz II look like two hobos scrapping over a bag of Doritos. And for once, it seems that the MMA Gods have smiled upon us.

According to Dana White, a bout agreement between Lawler and Cerrone has just been signed. The brawl-to-end-all-brawls will take place on the main card of the UFC’s inaugural trip to New York City at UFC 205 in November.

This sure-to-be barnburner is just the latest bout to be reported for the UFC’s incredibly stacked debut at Madison Square Garden. Long Island native and former middleweight champ Chris Weidman is expected to meet top middleweight contender Yoel Romero on the card as well, and his training partner Al Iaquinta has been booked to face Thiago Alves in a lightweight contest on the evening’s undercard (given Alves doesn’t literally kill himself trying to make the weight). Elsewhere on the card, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans will make his middleweight debut against the returning Tim Kennedy.

Not a bad night of fights so far, to say the least. As for how we see Lawler vs. Cerrone playing out, well …
