If you’re not currently watching Thursday night’s UFC Fight Night 90 on Fight Pass, you’re missing the official kickoff of three straight nights of MMA events leading up to the eagerly anticipated UFC 200. You’ve also just missed out on one hell of a nutshot.
In the third preliminary fight of the evening, Gilbert Burns went up against Lukasz Sajewski, who has the inexplicable nickname of “The Wookiee.” In the middle of the first round, Burns threw a kick that caught the Wookiee directly in the Kashyyyks.
Like, seriously, where was that kick going? Because I know where it ended up: directly in the center of the package. If I was aiming for someone’s testicles, I don’t think I could have connected any more perfectly with a set of genitals.
Sajewski got a breather, and Burns even encouraged the referee to let him take his sweet time, because he threw that kick and he knew damn well that wasn’t your standard Mr. Belvedere grazing of the nuts. The news got even worse for Sajewski, however, as he got caught in a hellacious armbar and tapped out with under 10 seconds left in the first round. A rough night all around for the Wookiee and the various parts of his poor body.
Amazingly, this isn’t even the most brutal ballshot I’ve seen today. But it’s certainly an all-timer.
