Joss Whedon has been a busy man with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Avengers: Age Of Ultron less than a month away from premiering, it seems the director is in definite need of a vacation. A few weeks ago, we reported that Avengers: Infinity War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Whedon recently spoke with EW about his decision not to direct the next film himself:
Every movie I have ever made has been an ensemble piece of increasingly enormous proportions. That many balls in the air, it’s only going to get bigger with ‘Infinity War.’ I’m not going to be able to give it what I would need to.
Whedon then added in what is being described as a “geezer voice”:
“It’s a young man’s game.”
Take a vacation, Mr. Whedon. You deserve it.
