Back in March, Boardwalk Empire star Jack Huston was tapped to take on the role of Eric Draven in Corin Hardy’s remake of The Crow. With last month’s news that the film found their villain, it seemed like everything was on track to get the production off the ground.
Variety now reports that the search for another Eric Draven is in the works, as Jack Huston just dropped out of the project due to scheduling issues:
“Jack Huston is unfortunately unavailable to continue with us on ‘The Crow,’” said director Corin Hardy in a statement. “‘The Crow’ is an amazing project, and I am grateful that we have the time and patience to get it right. We look forward to unveiling our new lead and starting to film over the next several weeks.”
Currently, Relativity has their sights set on Nicholas Hoult and Jack O’Connell as possible replacements to fill the role Brandon Lee made famous 21 years ago. Scheduling conflicts aside, Jack Huston is definitely keeping busy as he will appear in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and is set to star in the upcoming Ben-Hur remake.
