There was once a time when it seemed Jim Carrey owned the world. In 1994 alone, he starred in three monster comedy hits: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, and The Mask. Between 1995 and 2005, he received six Golden Globe nominations, winning two of them, as well as a slew of other awards (sadly though, never an Oscar nomination). The former In Living Color cast member doesn’t lead many films these days, but on his 53rd birthday, we should look back and reflect upon the time when it just wasn’t a proper awards ceremony without Jim Carrey.
