Back to the Future Day may be over, but when you think about it, celebrating the adventures of Marty McFly on a specific day is kind of silly. Time is fluid! You can obsess about DeLoreans and self-tying shoes whenever you darn well want! So, with that in mind, here’s the Honest Trailer for the Back to the Future trilogy.
The Back to the Future movies are classics (well, at least the first two are), that goes without saying, but the Screen Junkies folk do find plenty of legitimate nits to pick. Like the fact that all movies tell basically the same story with a different backdrop. Travel to the past/future, beat up the bully, fix the future, set up the sequel, rinse, repeat. Also, Marty having to set up his own conception in the first movie really is profoundly creepy. And yet, Lea Thompson is involved, so I don’t mind a bit. She can get it on with alien ducks, her own time-traveling son or whatever/whoever else she wants, I am into it.
One thing they didn’t touch much on is timeline oddities, but I suppose that’s understandable. There’s only so much honesty people can take, and a trailer isn’t really a trailer any more if it’s an hour long.
