The promotion is ramping up for Captain America: Civil War. Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans debuted the record-breaking first trailer last week, and now Entertainment Weekly is revealing more about who’s taking sides and who’s sitting this one out in the new issue on newsstands this Friday. The magazine just released the cover above — featuring a meowing Black Panther and Cap/Iron Man INTENSITY — as a preview.
Chris Evans hints at the more murky ethics of the fight Cap’s facing in the new film, telling Entertainment Weekly, “In most of the movies, there’s no question who we should be siding with. We all agree Nazis are bad, aliens from space are bad. But this movie’s the first time where you really have two points of view. It becomes a question of morality and I don’t think [Cap] has ever been so uncertain with what right and wrong is.”
Of course, what sets this cover story apart is the presence of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, who appears to (SPOILER) side with Tony Stark in some of the leaked promo art. Entertainment Weekly says both sides are seeking his support, so who knows? Maybe — much like Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch — he’ll prove to be a wild card. We can imagine Steve and Tony fighting over him already…
