Product placements are nothing new, but it seems lately there’s been a string of ridiculous corporate tie-ins that make moviegoers scratch their heads. 20th Century Fox thought it would be beneficial to team up with Coldwell Banker to promote the latest installment in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse. Because when X-Men fans see Mystique, Magneto, and the rest of the crew, they think to themselves, “Wow, I bet the market is doing really well, I should give Coldwell Banker a call to see how much I can sell my house for!”
Even though the corporate tie-in is a little baffling and promotion of the film has been questionable at best, the Coldwell Banker/ X-Men spots are actually pretty damn great in a weird sort of way. Coldwell Banker released a parody of their “Home of the Week” ads featuring the X-Mansion, complete with details of the “built-in mahogany bookshelves” and the 2 dozen bedrooms that have “plenty of space for even the largest family or a boarding school for gifted children.” They also mention the house’s underground lab and its private underground jet hanger, but when was the last time the kitchen was remodeled?

Clearly, 20th Century Fox is going for a slightly older demographic when it comes to marketing X-Men: Apocalypse, so are we going to see Professor X using Fiber One in the next film?
