If you are not familiar with actress Gwendoline Christie – the 6-foot-3 Amazonian bad-ass who claims the role of Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones – you soon will be if you are a fan of the Star Wars universe. According to Vulture, Christie will be playing the part of the chrome stormtrooper, most recently seen in latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This certainly lays the tracks for a possible confrontation with actor John Boyega, who confirmed recently at Star Wars Celebration that his character will in fact be linked with stormtroopers. Of course, after watching the original teaser trailer for Force Awakens, Boyega’s claim doesn’t come as much of a revelation.
It’s good to see that in a movie universe where Wookies and Ewoks roam free, there is some human diversity in the cast for once. This news, though, may come to the dismay of some of the more close-minded fans of the series.
