Jacob Tremblay is adorable, funny, and he can really act, too.
Oh yeah, and he’s 9 years old.
The co-star of the Oscar-winning Room has the world on a string right now and he’s probably not even in the fifth grade yet. It all started with his performance as Best Actress winner Brie Larson’s son in the modest yet powerful Best Picture nominee, and when he won the Critics Choice award as Best Young Performer, he was off and running.
His acceptance speech killed (especially when he had to stand on his tiptoes to reach the microphone) and that moment set the stage for him being one of the true darlings of awards season. When Oscar host Chris Rock came out with a box for him to stand on while presenting an award with fellow child star Abraham Attah, he ad-libbed the moment like a pro.
Tremblay, who also met Leonardo DiCaprio and told Ellen DeGeneres that what he really wants to do is direct during this busy stretch, has a full plate in 2016. He’s already been seen in the hilarious “Funny Or Die” spoof of Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal with Johnny Depp, and among other future endeavors, he’ll be seen in Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow’s next movie The Book of Henry alongside Naomi Watts, Sarah Silverman, and Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Lee Pace.
Tremblay is living a lot of kids’ dreams. Check out the video above to see just how he’s doing it.
