Joseph Gordon-Levitt took time out from fretting over his Sandman adaptation to pay tribute to hot moms. The video isn’t very timely — he missed the Mother’s Day mark — but common sense is overrated in this ridiculous sendup. In the spirit of the Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg classic, “Motherlover,” JGL gets down in this song about moms that he’d like to bang. Boy, does he ever get down. “Sexy Motha” isn’t an amazing song, but Gordon-Levitt’s passionate delivery is worth a few laughs.
In this video, JGL and one of The Gregory Brothers mack on moms at the playground, get busy in the back of a minivan and crash a PTA meeting. That last detail ruins the effect. The PTA gimmick goes too far, and this song is hilariously bad, but that’s the point. Some lyrical highlights:
“I want a girl who likes to eat organic, read Dr Seuss out loud.”
“She’s got a minivan with the fold down seats, we can pull over and get it on when the baby’s asleep.”
“I just wanna give my chromosomes a happy home.”
“Someday you could be a grandma, and that’s twice as hot.”
“I’m sorry I rumpled your duvet, but I had to work on that bootay.”
We may never know what inspired Gordon-Levitt to film this video. Perhaps he’s sending not-so-subliminal messages to his lovely, brilliant bride.
