Kylo Ren is a very different villain for the Star Wars franchise. He’s a little more familiar than the various imperious space wizards the series has had as foes. Maybe a little too familiar, as a hilarious new Twitter feed proves by exploring his inner-most, profoundly whiny feelings.
“Emo Kylo Ren” is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: Kylo Ren has feelings that you just don’t understand, that not even his best friend from high school Hux understands. That his feelings happen to also feature subtle digs at certain aspects of The Force Awakens is just a bonus. Fair warning that this has a few spoilers lurking in the feed. For example…
fine I will go to the dance dad
but I will not dance
I will wear a dark peacoat and stand in a corner with hux passing judgment on everyone— Emo Kylo Ren (@KyloR3n) December 23, 2015
dear diary
the substitute math teacher kept calling me "rilo kiley"
it was upsetting
hux says he is an untermensch
I guess we are talking— Emo Kylo Ren (@KyloR3n) December 23, 2015
just once i wish my dad would respond to "I love you" with "I love you too"
mom too for that matter— Emo Kylo Ren (@KyloR3n) December 23, 2015
Although really you can sum up the whole Twitter (and possibly Kylo) in this one tweet:
i wish i'd suffered more

Heck, for all we know this is his official backstory. The Force Awakens only says that Kylo lost his mind during Jedi training and followed in Grandpa’s youngling-murdering footsteps along with what appears to be a bunch of sidekicks. Maybe he really was just a whiny emo teenager who lost it and has been sulking about how it’s not fair ever since. Probably not, but if Ren tells Rey something along the lines of Not All Rens, we’re just leaving the theater.
