Internet royal, actress, presiding Queen of Wisconsin, and former Attack of the Show host Olivia Munn is joining the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan Singer broke the news on Instagram, where he’s also made many other announcements about the film.
As Psylocke, Munn will play a telepath who is able generate a telekinetic katana and who isn’t averse to taking a life. There’s no word yet on if Psylocke will be a lead character in the film, which is already full of mutant characters. The X-Men: First Class cast is merging with a rebooted X-Men roster filled with familiar characters and unfamiliar faces.
Besides her time on Attack of the Show, Munn also worked briefly as a correspondent on The Daily Show and co-starred in Magic Mike and the critically-addressed Mortdecai. Munn also impressed as Sloan Sabbith for three seasons on Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom for HBO. If those credentials aren’t enough for you, dear superfan, then perhaps you’ll take solace in the rumors that Munn wasn’t all that impressed with Brett Ratner either. So there’s that.
