Last month, Paul Reubens’ many vague references to a possible second Pee-wee Herman movie became a reality with the announcement of Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. Netflix is distributing the film, which is produced by Bill Cosby’s archenemy, Judd Apatow. Pee-wee himself announced that filming had started (albeit a day late) on Twitter late Tuesday night:

Reubens’ character made the announcement on a new blog on his website dedicated to the film:
Wow, am I tired! Just finished the second day of filming. Hitchhiked yesterday all day. Got a ride, hitchhiked some more, then got another ride. A lot of traveling in two days!
Sound vague? Want to know more? Well, I hope you’ll check in here periodically and I’ll tell you what I can while we film. And please, see ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday’ on Netflix when it’s finished, won’t you???!!!!!!!!!
That… is a lot of punctuation, Pee-wee. But considering Big Top Pee-wee was released almost 30 years ago, the excitement is warranted.
