Who Makes Spider-Man’s Web Shooters In ‘Captain America: Civil War?’

Since Captain America: Civil War is Marvel’s next film on the docket, then it’s a good bet the rumors will keep coming before its May 6, 2016 release date. Hence the growing list of details about what Tom Holland’s Spider-Man suit will look like, as well as how many suits he might sport. The latest report, however, adds fuel to the rumor that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark contributes.

Stark constructs the “Iron Spider” armor for Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man #529, in the lead up to the Civil War storyline, and Parker uses it throughout. That particular outfit looked something like this:

As cool as this suit is, it’s highly unlikely that Marvel would fast-track it or anything like it for Captain America: Civil War. Instead, aside from the classic suit design alluded to in previous rumors, Stark will be contributing a rather specific piece of technology to Parker’s getup.

Latino-Review reports Spider-Man’s web shooters will result from Stark technology, and they’ll be mechanical in nature. Parker won’t already have his shooters when he first encounters the Avengers in the film, as his suit will mostly consist of homemade materials. However, once the smoke clears, it seems Stark will have a few shiny new presents for the wall crawler.

It’s just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt this early in the process. Yet considering the steadily increasing number of rumors and leaks, and their striking similarities, there’s a good chance that this just might be the case. Plus, it makes perfect sense within the confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
