This Steve Jobs biopic might be cursed. After not one but two leading men passed on the Danny Boyle project, the film is now looking to Michael Fassbender to fill the title role. According to Variety, Sony is looking to fill the role quickly and Fassbender may have a break in between filming X-Men movies in order to take on the part.
This news comes after both Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale dropped out of the running to star in the flick which is based on Walter Issacson’s biography of the tech genius and Apple founder. Aaron Sorkin is penning the script and has revealed the film will be broken down into three scenes which take place before the launch of key Apple products. DiCaprio passed on the part after announcing he’d be taking a break from acting, and while Bale was Sorkin’s first pick — he reportedly didn’t even audition before being offered the part — the Exodus star took his name out of the running after deciding he wasn’t the right man for Jobs.
Seth Rogen is still hanging in there though so that’s something.
