Get ready for a Spider-Man on Spider-Man lovefest. (Not the Rule 34 kind, but we’re not here to kinkshame.) Raimi-era Spidey Tobey Maguire took to Instagram to give a big ol’ thumbs-up to Tom Holland’s web-head debut in Captain America: Civil War.

Maguire sent his words of praise nestled alongside a charming fan video that has 2000s Peter Parker coming across the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man. There’s no Spider-Man 3-style brooding or dancing, thankfully, but the events do prompt the Maguire version to check on a certain bit of wardrobe.

“Haha seriously, who made this?” asks Maguire in the accompanying caption. “@tomholland2013 good job! You are great as Spider-Man. Keep it up!”

He has to keep it up, Tobey. The latest crack at serving up big screen Spider-Man thrills is just getting started. Our condolences to any Andrew Garfield era die-hards.

Speaking of Tobey Maguire and his peers, one of his former co-stars shared last month that they didn’t have a particularly easy time working with ToMag on the Academy Award-winning drama, The Cider House Rules. Charlize Theron shared that while she and Maguire have patched things up, things were a bit difficult during filming.

“Tobey and I had a bit of a rough time, yeah. I mean, we’re good now. It was a difficult movie,” she told James Franco for the cover of V Magazine’s Summer Hollywood Issue. “Every day [on set was] completely different for a completely different reason. Whether it’s the weather, or the writing isn’t there, or you don’t get along with your castmate, you have to be able to go to something else that’s just as powerful.”

Unlike Spider-Man, the likelihood of a new Cider House Rules popping up every few years is fairly remote. At least for now.
