All-the-feels factory Pixar recently celebrated its 20th anniversary of making people cry and Randy Newman songs, but that’s nothing compared to Jason Lyle Black’s grandparents. They’ve been together since 1955, when “The Ballad of Davy Crockett” was burning up the Billboard charts and no one had heard the term “YouTube personality” yet. It was a good time to be alive.
To commemorate 60 years of marriage, and 9,000 episodes of watching Matlock together, Black had grandma and grandpa play Ellie and Carl’s theme from Up on the piano. The happy husband even wears the requisite bow tie and tweed jacket. It’s about as adorable as it sounds, although I hope Black turned off the movie before… y’know happens. If you only watch the first three minutes, Up is about a happy couple and they never die. NEVER.
