If you’re a person who creates things and, at any point in your life, someone gives you crap about “selling out,” please do me, them and the rest of the world a favor by forwarding that person a link to this video of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney talking about the upside and downside of taking money for their music.
I can’t say that I agree 100% with their thinking in shunning Spotify, but I think what they have to say in this Studio Q interview is pretty spot-on. The zinger: “Would you rather be surrounded by Nickelback and Fergie? No … I’d rather it be our music.”
