The Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck premieres on HBO on May 4, but celebrating the life of the Nirvana frontman doesn’t end there. As long as corporate magazines suck, his spirit lives on. Also, according to the film’s director Brett Morgen, there will be a “new” Cobain album released this year, with home recordings and probably a Tupac collaboration or two.
Morgen told Bedford + Bowery that after combing through more than 200 hours of unreleased audio, they found enough material to put out an “amazing album… [that] will feel like you’re kind of hanging out with Kurt Cobain on a hot summer day in Olympia, Wash. as he fiddles about.”
Fiddling around Kurt is often the best Kurt.
