In case you were worried about the donut shop where Princess Ariana Grande licked and spat on the donuts and declared her disdain for her home country, fret not! Wolfee Donuts of Lake Elsinore, California is actually doing great business now that they’ve reached peak saliva notoriety, even though their health grade was knocked down a notch from A to B. But as all reassuring parents of an overachieving child would say, a B is still pretty great!
But that doesn’t mean that everything is hunky-dory in Grande Town. Joe Marin, the owner of Wolfee Donuts, says that despite seeing his business triple since the video surfaced, he’s “furious” and “pissed off” by Grande’s nasty display. A Mexican immigrant who is now a U.S. citizen, Marin points out that while it was bad enough that the vowel-meowing pop star was putting her drool all over his (probably delicious) donuts, the anti-American stuff was even stupider saying “She forgot that America buys your tickets, that’s why you’re famous.”
The health grade drop was only partially due to the Grande incident since there were a couple of other minor sanitary issues going on at Wolfee’s, but Marin said he’s confident he would be back at an A grade by the 15th of this month. While Marin says he’s considering pressing charges against Grande, the local police and health inspector are already looking into the case.
