At Tuesday night’s Tidal X 10/20 Event, some of the biggest names in hip-hop took the stage to benefit the New World Foundation. The four headliners hoped to showcase Jay-Z’s beleaguered streaming service while also raising awareness around the foundation’s civil-rights initiatives. The performance took place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Other performers on hand included Rick Ross, Usher, Tip T.I., Travis Scott, and Lil Wayne.
At one point, Beyonce filled in for Justin Timberlake to perform Jay-Z’s “Holy Grail,” but when the live-streamed event lit up Twitter, everyone was talking about Nicki Minaj’s performance of “Feeling Myself” with Beyonce in tow. Nicki opened the song, only to be joined by Bey and her ladies in pink. The commanding performance shredded the stage with some favorite moments repeated on Twitter for posterity.
