For those of you who have waited all year for new Rihanna, we have good news (maybe… kinda). Billboard is reporting that her new album, ANTI, may be coming next month, though if it does it will be a surprise release.
Via the article:
“ANTI now looks like it will be released in December, with a rumored surprise release likely…
Roc Nation boss Jay Z has been looking into rollout strategies from other successful non-traditional releases, including Beyoncé’s surprise self-titled LP and his own reported $30 million Samsung partnership for the release of his 2013 album Magna Carta… Holy Grail.”
Not everyone is sold on the idea of a December release, however. That Grape Juice is reporting that ANTI is being pushed back to next year.
All this comes in the wake of the news that Rihanna isn’t happy with the album. The Sun interviewed Rihanna’s father, and he said that she’s having a bit of a crisis of confidence in her first release since 2012.
“Robyn is not happy with the new album. She’s not comfortable with it,” he said. “When she went over the songs, she found all these little things she wanted to change and was worried about it. It’s a long process and isn’t easy. It’s been three years now since her last album, and she wants this to blow everything else away.”
So, in truth, we’re no closer to really knowing when Rihanna’s album will come out, proving that this will, in every way, be a surprise release when it does drop.
