When 4chan’s involved, I imagine a lot of contest organizers sympathize with Scooby Doo villains. “And I would gotten away with letting some young girl meet Taylor Swift, too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids on 4chan.” Nearly a year ago, the troll factory tried to send T-Swift to a school for the deaf, and although that prank didn’t work exactly as they hoped, they haven’t given up on the musical elf maiden.
Boston’s Kiss108FM must be new to the web, because they ran a contest for Taylor Swift fans fully expecting not to have the top-vote-getter be a “creepy” 39-year-old hand-picked by the Internet to win a meet and greet with the singer…It all started with a post on the infamous imageboard 4chan asking its anonymous users to help Charles “crush the dreams of these girls and give him a chance to make a complete ass of himself by blatantly just sniffing her hair with cameras rolling.”
The lulz-seekers obliged, and by early Tuesday morning Charles was sitting pretty in third place, on his way to two free tickets to a Taylor Swift show and a backstage photo sesh with the 23-year-old. (Via)
Then Reddit swooped in, of course, and now Charles is #1, in both our hearts and Swift’s bodyguard’s “Do Not Let Near” list. Here is the dashing gentlemen himself, who OP called a “fat old guy creep.” They’re friends.
