Adele, a recording artist so popular that it is now borderline illegal not to have a record of hers in your home, has revealed that she’ll be headlining Glastonbury.
The “Hello” mega-seller shared this exciting bit of festival news yesterday during a gig at London’s O2 Arena. According to Adele, she would have done it in 2015 if 25 had been completely crafted. Well placed f-bomb, ahoy!
“I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn’t ready. And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you’re more f*cking boring for moaning about me headlining.”
The U.K. festival ranks as arguably Britain’s most colossal festival with enormous turnout and media coverage galore. (It might also ring a bell as the place where potential attendees threw a fit over Kanye West topping the 2015 bill.) This year’s edition will see Adele serve as a headlining act alongside Coldplay and Muse with Jeff Lynne’s ELO taking on the “legends slot” that Lionel Ritchie and Dolly Parton have crushed in the past.
Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis unleashed a jubilant tweet after Adele shared what she’ll be up to on June 25.
What a great honour it is to have the wonderful Adele confirmed for this year's Saturday night headline spot on the Pyramid Stage!

Presumably a few people will show up for that.
