UPDATE: According to Austin 360, Jay Z has officially been added to the lineup of this year’s festival. Let the new album rumors churn!
The lineup for this year’s Austin City Limits Festival has been revealed and it looks pretty amazing. The three-day mega-festival is set to return to Zilker Park for two different weekends later this year in October, the 6-8 and the 13-15. Whether you’re a fan or rock, pop, hip-hop or just about any other genre imaginable there’s something for you to enjoy.
At the top of this year’s festival sits the funk rock legends Red Hot Chili Peppers. After them, Chicago’s favorite son and child education enthusiast Chance The Rapper. Then you have both the Killers and Gorillaz. Looking further down the bill, if you’re a hip-hop head, you’ve got to like the inclusion of Run The Jewels, Ice Cube, A$AP Ferg, and Skepta. Also, Solange has decided to take part in the festivities, which is great news considering she has no plans to tour behind her last, incredible album A Seat At The Table.
For the rock contingent, there’s a wealth of offerings as well, like Ryan Adams, who was supposed to play a showcase in Austin a few months back at SXSW, but fell ill and had to cancel. There’s also Car Seat Headrest, The xx, as well as Eagles of Death Metal. And would it even be a musical event in Austin without the inclusion of Spoon?
All in all, a pretty solid collection of talent as far as festivals go. You can check out the full lineup from the poster included below.
