President Barack Obama already came as close as a sitting president ever will to saying “F*ck Donald Trump” with this interview following his nomination. But for those of us who want the real thing, BaracksDubs used some clever editing to give us an Obama remix of the YG track “FDT.”
While Key & Peele made a ridiculous amount of hay out of the fact that Obama can never truly be angry, BaracksDubs blows right past that line to force some vitriol out of one of the most level-headed presidents in history. The YouTube channel knows that all we really want from POTUS is a pointed “I like white folks, but I don’t like you” aimed squarely at the “short-fingered vulgarian” who has hijacked the GOP. And for a glorious and all-too-brief 42 seconds, they give it to us.
Back in the real, unaltered world, Obama said that Donald Trump is a symptom of a conservative moment that has come to view any compromise as a sign of weakness.
“I think [Trump’s nomination] says something about what’s happened to the Republican Party over the course of the last 8, 10, 15 years,” he said on Face the Nation, before reflecting on the way that the party used to operate, “They… understood that our system of government requires compromise, that Democrats weren’t the enemy, that the way our government works requires us to listen to each other.”
