Justin Timberlake Had The Best Response To Being Namedropped In Kanye West’s Speech

Perhaps out of all the major moments from the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, the biggest (or at least the longest) was Kanye West’s acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Amidst all the anti-award show screeds and proclamations for president, he also mentioned an anecdote from the 2007 Grammys when he noticed Justin Timberlake weeping:

“I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee-Lo lose. Gnarls Barkley and the FutureLove … “SexyBack” album … and Justin, I ain’t trying to put you on blast, but I saw that man in tears, bro. You know, and I was thinking, like, ’He deserved to win Album of the Year!’ “

While Justin wasn’t at the VMAs (he was watching St. Vincent and Erykah Badu at the Hollywood Bowl), he still caught wind of his mention at the VMAs and decided to comment.

After some folks thought JT was getting a little out of pocket, he reassured everyone that he was only kidding.

See, Justin is ultimately down for the cause. Now that this is settled, we can move on to much more serious questions. Like what position should he hold in the Kanye West cabinet? Finally, we can get down to brass tacks.
