The first shot was fired when Katy Perry allegedly stole some of Taylor Swift’s back-up dancers. Swift responded by writing “Bad Blood,” a pissed-off ode to mad love and throwing knives at stuffed bears. Now, Perry is countering with the modern-day version of a sealed-with-wax scroll… heavily processed music. According to Hollywood Life, the Queen of the Left Sharks has registered a new song called “1984,” a probable reference to Swift’s most recent album, 1989.
“Katy thinks revenge is a dish best served cold,” a friend [said]. “She’s even more determined to show people what she called ‘the real Taylor.’ She’s [written] some big, anthemic-type song that’ll feature dirt on Taylor that John’s told her from when they used to date.”
The “John” in question is John Mayer, who dated both Perry and Swift because he’s the Adam Duritz of the 2000s. Anyway, while “1984” could be Perry’s “revenge song,” maybe she’s just a big The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension fan?
Taylor walks through fire with Serena and Karlie; Katy has her own squad.
