The guys in Metallica are at the point in their career where they’d rather do anything than release a new Metallica album. It’s been six long years since Death Magnetic, and although there are rumors that something is coming out soon, it’s unknown what that something is, and whether it’ll just be James Hetfield screaming “YEA” for an hour. That would be better than Death Magnetic, actually.
Anyway, Lars Ulrich is passing the time by accepting comedy drum-off challenges.
It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I’m TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around! As for any further drum-offs, I’m sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That’s a whole different story. He rules the “bad-ass drummer universe.” I mean, you’re talking about a guy who’s so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I’m definitely up for the challenge…Bring it on!!!
There’s no official word on where it will take place or when, but considering it’s a bunch of white dudes drumming together, assume outside your college dorm window at 2 a.m.
