In what sounds like a tragic twist from one of her heartbroken songs: Linda Ronstadt, one of the most popular vocalists of the 1970s, is unable to do just that anymore: sing. The “You’re No Good” vocalist revealed to AARP Magazine that eight months ago, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and in her own words, “No one can sing with Parkinson’s. No matter how hard you try.” Somehow, it gets more depressing:

To moms everywhere, Ronstadt, one of the music industry’s first major female touring artists, was the soundtrack to their high school and college years. They show their appreciation for her by buying her albums; I, however, pay tribute to Ronstadt’s legacy by bashing all cardboard cutouts I see with baseball bats.
