The dating world is harsh when you’re a single mom over 40. Things may be a little easier when you’re a millionaire celebrity like Mariah Carey, but everybody still needs a leg up. Even she has had some rough days as of late. Regardless, it would make perfect sense for someone in her position to join a dating site. And unlike Zedd, who promoted his new album on Tinder, someone of her social standing would probably be better served elsewhere.
So, when news broke that she was premiering her brand new video for “Infinity” on Match along with a full profile under the name MC1toInfinity, it made perfect sense. In the clip, she finds herself lying on the couch swiping left and right in a sequined ball gown, you know, just like the rest of us do. She’s eventually is paired up with a stripper-esque Tyson Beckford and Empire‘s Jussie Smollett with a puppy in tow. She finds a match with the latter, but maybe we don’t have the heart to tell her why it probably won’t work out.
In any event, this paves the way for other dating site premieres. John Mellencamp on Farmers Only? Sufjan Stevens on Christian Mingle? Robin Thicke on Ashley Madison? They could all work! Lastly, just a word of advice, Mariah: If someone swipes right on you with the name KickNannon, you should probably just ignore that.
