Odd grunter Russell Crowe is no stranger to altercations and controversies — an entire section of his Wikipedia page is dedicated to, well, “altercations and controversies” — but one fight he never picked was with Michael Jackson. Which makes it all the more baffling why, according to Crowe in a profile in the Guardian, MJ used to randomly troll the Les Misérables star.
The zenith of Crowe’s fame does sound a bit disturbing in other ways. For one thing, he found himself on the receiving end of repeated nuisance calls from, of all people, Michael Jackson. “For two or three f*cking years,” he says. “I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn’t matter where I was, he’d ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know. ‘Is Mr Wall there? Is Mrs Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what’s holding the roof up? Ha ha.’ You’re supposed to grow out of doing that, right?” (Via)
Nope. If anything, the older I get, the more I want to mess with Russell Crowe. I have a friend who somehow got Aaron Carter’s phone number, and every so often, he’d call the BSB brother and ask him, “Is the party still on for tonight? Aaron’s party?” OK, that, but with me screaming “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?” at Crowe. Classic.
