It’s well known that MTV doesn’t play music videos anymore. But if they DID and I was 12 years old and TRL was still on and I was the kind of kid who watched TRL (there are a lot of hypotheticals when it comes to the “M” in MTV), I’d want to see Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” every 10 minutes. It looks like the teen version of a David Lynch film, where pink goo oozing out of a person after they cut their fingers off isn’t the weirdest thing that happens.
Miley’s like a young girl who’s trying to be sexy but doesn’t know what the word means; she just associates the term with being an adult, and everyone ends up feeling awkward. That’s “We Can’t Stop”…and it’s great.
Not the song, though.
