Well, this story keeps getting better and better and weirder and weirder. Yesterday, we told you about the Virginia Tech student who apparently somehow missed the fact that Kurt Cobain died nearly 20 years ago and asked Nirvana to support her bid to become homecoming queen. Nirvana never responded, but “Nirvana” did.
“Go Hokies!” has been replaced with “Go Hoagies!” (a good call, me thinks) but otherwise, “Nirvana,” now with Mudhoney’s Mark Arm and Sub Pop’s front desk receptionist Derek Erdman in the group, followed the student’s script perfectly, much to her apparent delight.
Something in the way…Sub Pop has handled all this bring me endless, nameless joy.
