Imagine you’re a normal guy, living a normal life. You’re well-liked, if not honestly given a second thought. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, someone with your name becomes the most famous person on Earth. It might ruin some things for you.
Thankfully, for a Seattle area man named Taylor Swift, he actually enjoys the music of his more famous shared namesake. “And I was kind of like, ‘Okay, I should look into this,’ ” Swift told KOMO 4 News in Seattle. “So, I started researching and was like, ‘Okay, she does country music, that’s great. She writes her own music, that’s awesome!’ ”
But things aren’t all great in sharing the same name with the “Bad Blood” singer. He said he’s had to change his email (he’s the original holder of TaylorSwift@gmail.com), he gets heckled at restaurants, and even receives weird fan mail. “It doesn’t ever end. She’s incredibly famous,” Taylor told KOMO.
The more famous Taylor Swift (I hesitated to say “the real Taylor Swift” because he probably feels like “I’M REAL”) has yet to address the Seattle man, but hopefully she can mercifully tell her adoring public to knock it off and give this poor guy a break. It’s the least she can do since hijacking this guy’s life. Or, at a minimum, she could give this guy free concert tickets for life. His name is Taylor Swift: His name should be on the list forever.
