While we aren’t experts at life, or even at social media, here is at least one tip we can offer: If you’re a celebrity, never have an auto-search for your own name. Why would you care what people are saying about you if you will never interact with them? It’s only going to bring bad news.
Post-grunge band Trapt, probably most famous for their 2002 hit “Headstrong,” learned that the hard way this week. They found an opinion that disagreed with their defense of disgraced police officer Darren Wilson and Lexi Kozhevsky, the 19-year-old girl who formed a human shield in front of the police in Ferguson and felt the need to reply.

Starting out innocently enough, Trapt defended the teen girl who wanted to protect the police who have acted controversially towards the town’s citizens of color. But from then on, the band made things racial very quickly.

Then, in defense mode, the band started lashing out on all takers.

Then, they combated that white privilege doesn’t exist by asking if it’s in China?

A BOFA added in for good measure never hurts, either.

But perhaps the best troll of the day came from a simple question.

We suppose the point is that, in America, you can say whatever truly great or awful thing you want — that is in the eye of the beholder. But, when you vanity search on Twitter, you are inviting all of the trolls to your doorstep. Just you think about if you have any hot button topics to tackle, Seether!
Also, white privilege exists. Bye!
