The good news: A Tribe Called Quest will open for Kanye West for two shows next month in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The bad news: those will be the group’s final two shows. Forever. Probably. Maybe. For real, though.

According to Q-Tip on Twitter, “In August, ATCQ did our last show FOR Cali. It’s only right we do our FINAL 2 joints where we started…NYC.” Tribe broke up once before, back in 1998, before reuniting in 2006. They’ve since been touring sporadically, but haven’t released an album, which is totally fine by everyone. They’re great as is, a legacy act that remains as relevant as ever. Though I still don’t know the importance of a Skypager.
