Today Ty Dolla $ign dropped his aptly named mixtape, Campaign. Like any good political operative will tell you, no campaign is complete without visuals to accompany your message. Someone bring out the balloons and streamers because the West Coast native just dropped the video to “??? (Where)” with a little help from Migos. Like most campaign ads, it’s sure to get champagne bottles popping in every direction possible.
“??? (Where)” is aiming to be the strip club anthem of the fall and there’s a good chance it wins that race with ease — possibly in a landslide. Of course, it helps when most of your video is shot in an actual strip club so Ty’s already got several legs up on the competition. The hazy four minutes and thirty second clip is a perfect companion piece to the song, which started out belonging to the R&B cat but ends with Migos in sole possession.
This is the type of production and subject matter the Atlanta trio thrives on. A lesser writer would say they murdered Dolla on his own sh*t, but it’s hard to stay focused on that when there’s so much going on in this video. Seriously though, this is a good look for them and will no doubt whet the appetites for those who consider themselves Migos fiends.
The song is a far cry from the timely “No Justice” but that’s not a bad thing. Diversity is one of the greatest tools an artist can have in their arsenal. It’s good to know that no matter what, Dolla $ign still knows how to have fun and be lit as f*ck.
