Bruno Mars, winner of Best Pop Vocal Album at last night’s Grammys, began performing on-stage at the age of 3. Born to a musical family, his uncle was an Elvis impersonator and Bruno eventually followed suit.
Now maybe because he’s super talented, or because he was so cute that old people lined up to pinch his cheeks, but at the age of 4 he started to be so well known that he got interviewed by the one, the only, 1990’s Pauly Shore. Take a look:
Not to be confused with 2000’s Pauly Shore, 1990’s Pauly Shore was a big freaking deal: his movies in the 90’s alone grossed almost 185 million dollars. That’s a lot of “Hey buuuu-ddy”.
Mars eventually became so well known as “Little Elvis” he even got a bit part in the 1992 Nic Cage movie Honeymoon In Vegas:
Fun fact: Bruno’s actual name is Peter Gene Hernandez, but his dad gave him the nickname Bruno because he thought he looked like 80’s wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino. Um, thanks dad?
Bruno Mars performs the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, February 2 on FOX. We’ll be doing a live thread, so check back and bring ALL your Peyton snarkiness.
