As we told you a couple of weeks ago, the work he did in the wake of Hurricane Sandy helped New Jersey Governor Chris Christie finally get acknowledged by his hero, Bruce Springsteen. Christie, who says he’s attended over 130 Boss concerts in his lifetime, had previously tried to befriend Bruce, only to be rebuffed because Springsteen didn’t care for his politics. But then the storm brought them together, and Christie reportedly was moved to tears.
Reading about that encounter was one thing, but seeing Christie describe it last night on the Daily Show was kind of awesome. I think we can all probably relate in some way — each of us likely has someone we’ve long idolized who meeting would just reduce us to mush. Christie’s description of the hug he gave Springsteen made me LOL pretty good. Meanwhile, Stewart seemed genuinely jealous. Enjoy.
