David Lee Roth departed Van Halen in 1985 over dreaded “creative differences” with Eddie Van Halen, only to rejoin the iconic group in 2007. Somehow, though, in those eight years, they hadn’t performed on television until last night, when Van Halen, the way it was meant to be (sorry/not sorry, Sammy), played “Panama” and “Runnin’ with the Devil” for Kimmel.
A few thoughts:
1. Roth is a goofball who sounds out of sync with the rest of the band. I still like him.
2. He injured his nose on a microphone during warmups, hence the bandage. ROCK ‘N’ ROLL.
3. Eddie Van Halen remains the best reason to listen to Van Halen.
4. Seriously, DLR is a gum-chewing maniac. Even Larry the Cable Guy thinks so!
Lol! Van Halen on Kimmel. I gotta say I love van halen and Van Hagar but Roth has gone insane. It's like he's become an SNL Sketch.
