Weezer seems to be trying really hard to imply that the upcoming album “Everything Will Be Alright in the End” is going to have a little something special in it. Whether that something special is a return to the glory days of the Blue Album or “Pinkerton” or simply trying a little harder than the band has on past efforts, the video campaign at least has loyal fans’ hopes up for an album that is more than just one really good song, a few catchy tunes and then whatever was left in the tank. And if today’s new audio for the single “Back to the Shack” is any indication of what the whole album might be like, it seems like we can all definitely get ready to rock out like it’s 1994 again.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to find my Weezer baseball shirt, bucket hat and that plastic bag that I taped to the back of my baseball card organizer.
