Are you a big fan of Primo and Epico but wish they would drop their “We love Puerto Rico” gimmick and go back to the simpler days when they dressed up as Spanish Matadores and were flanked by a little person in a bull costume? Well, you’re in luck, because you’ll be able to relive the glory days of Diego and Fernando once more in WWE 2K17, as they have been announced in the latest crop of playable characters for the game on IGN.
The tag team was included in the “Futures Pack” DLC last year along with guys like Samoa Joe and Blake and Murphy despite the fact that Primo has been in WWE for like 10 years, so I guess this makes just as much sense as that did.
The rest of the roster reveal was equally as uninspiring, with all of the wrestlers announced Tuesday characters that were also featured in last year’s version of the game. However, they did include some legends that were fun inclusions last year like Larry Zybszko and Brian Pillman. The full list announced Tuesday is as follows:
- The Vaudevillans (Aiden English and Simon Gotch)
- Booker T
- Brian Pillman
- Brie Bella
- Chris Jericho
- Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando)
- Erick Rowan
- Heath Slater
- The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso)
- Jim Neidhart
- The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)
- Larry Zybszko
- Nikki Bella
- R-Truth
- Ultimate Warrior
John Cena and Sasha Banks weren’t announced but they have previously been confirmed, as has Brock Lesnar who will be on the cover and all three members of The McMahon Family. Other prior roster reveals include Goldberg who will be a pre-order bonus, while the NXT Special Collector’s edition of the game will feature Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax, and Apollo Crews.
IGN will be out with more WWE 2K17 roster updates every Tuesday for the next five weeks.
