For anyone out there envious of NFL stars who had their own pairs of Yeezy cleats by adidas, expect to get a chance to own a pair just like the pros wear. adidas made the announcement via the official Yeezy page on Tuesday that the Kanye West-styled kicks will be “coming soon” without any detailed information being given.
For most football and footwear fans, the signal of hope is more than enough, especially after seeing the shoes on the field this past weekend during the NFL’s opening weekend. Denver Broncos star and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller laced up a pair of Yeezy 750s and Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was gifted with a pair of Yeezy 350s in the popular ‘Turtle Dove’ colorway.
Of the two, the lower cut 350s will be the first to release. Using the Yeezy 350 Boost sneaker for their inspiration, the lower cut model is easily the better looking of the two, utilizing the same streamed lines as its streetwear predecessors to appear the more fluid translation. The shoes will sport a Primeknit upper reinforced by Sprintskin technology and sit atop the 5-Star frame for support.
The decision to release the cleats was most likely pre-determined before the hysteria kicked in. But, if it wasn’t the plan, it’s another sign that the Three Stripes is listening to what the people want. Pricing details haven’t been revealed yet but early reports put the cost at $250 and $300 for the 350 and 750, respectively.
