The highly-anticipated next project from French Montana is officially delayed.
The new album, MC4, was scheduled to be released this Friday, August 19th but it seems that the Bad Boy rapper’s having a few clearance issues. French took to Twitter to give everyone the bad news.
“Due to some sample clearances that are still being worked out, I have to move the album release,” he said. “I want to apologize to my fans that are waiting, I want to make sure the album is something special.”

This no doubt comes as a blow to French and the rest of his fans. He was starting to build a steady buzz with the singles he’s released in support of the album. There was “No Shopping” with Drake which, if you’ve forgotten, is how Drake ended up in Joe Budden’s crosshairs in the first place. French’s “Lockjaw” with Kodak Black was also a certified banger that saw additional freestyles from Big K.R.I.T. and a remix featuring Gucci Mane.
There’s no word on when the album will be released so one hopes that he can get those issues cleared up soon. It’d be a shame for the energy of both singles to go to waste because everyone knows sample clearances can be hell.
Just ask De La Soul.
