Weeks ago we were on the verge of boxing history as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao secretly met in a Miami hotel to work out a deal for a May 2nd fight. But things got quiet over the last 10 days and many, myself included, believed it wasn’t meant to be.
But today word leaked of a deal signed by Manny Pacquiao with a potential announcement by Floyd Mayweather coming at the NBA All-Star Game this weekend.
Yes, we’re just as shocked as you.

“Manny has 100 per cent signed his side of the deal,” the source told Telegraph Sport. “It is now over to Mayweather to close the deal and announce the fight.” Pacquiao himself revealed Friday that he has started training in General Santos City, Philippines for his next fight.
To be fair, we’ve heard rumors like this before. But never a “100 percent signed” deal. That’s a first.

Mayweather was in New York on Friday, buying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewellery, and there are indications that the unbeaten American boxer could even decide to announce the superfight officially at the NBA All-Star Game tip-off, which takes place on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
The fight will take place May 2nd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The reported deal is worth $250 million with a 60-40 split in favor of Mayweather.
More importantly, boxing fans are finally seeing the fight they should have gotten five years ago. Better late than never?
