After rumors swirled on Sunday afternoon regarding UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones being arrested and out of his UFC 187 title fight, the Albuquerque police department issued a statement,naming Jones as a suspect in a hit-and-run incident.
According to the statement, the driver of a separate vehicle involved in an accident was a “pregnant female in her 20s” who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The police are attempting to track Jones down for questioning.
While information is currently limited, the UFC has also issued a statement on the issue:
“We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available.”
