Floyd Mayweather will receive between $220-230 million for his fight with Manny Pacquiao, according to ESPN.com. It’s, by far, the most lucrative payout of any fight in boxing history. Because of the agreed upon 60-40 split, Pacquiao will walk away with $150 million. While that’s still a significant chunk of change, he still has to pay an exorbitant fee to his promoter, Bob Arum.

The money awarded to the fighters is a result of a guaranteed purse, $72 million in ticket sales — which doesn’t include a record $19 million in national closed-circuit revenue at more than 5,000 bars, restaurants and commercial establishments — and a record $6.9 million in closed-circuit revenue.
Unsurprisingly, Mayweather is the most successful pay-per-view boxer of all-time, generating $1.3 billion. Just think about how ridiculous that is for a second, and think about how much money Floyd has made with, by and large, boring fights. He’s the Tim Duncan of the boxing world. He’s the big fundamental, minus the reading part.
Another thing to consider from the Mayweather-Pacquiao bout is the number of people who watched illegal streams from Periscope and Meerkat. That’s another $2-3 million in Mayweather’s pocket right there. Sure, Floyd would just spend that money making it rain at the strip club, but that’s neither here nor there, guys.
