Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre needed only five innings to hit for the cycle on Monday night, capping the feat with a solo home run to deep left field in the bottom of the fifth. Afterwards, his teammates mobbed him in the dugout, which included pats on his head, something Beltre absolutely cannot stand. But he was a good sport about it:

Leading up to his fifth-inning homer, Beltre knew what stood between him and his third-career cycle. “Not going to lie,” he said. “I was looking for a home run.”
He became only the fourth person in MLB history to hit for the cycle three times in a career, and the first since Babe Herman in 1933.
